There seems to be a lot of discussion about the inflation of footballs lately. They claim they were deflated after being checked. Uniformly, and only the ones the Pats used. That is the only information I have on that. I get too bored to read all there is on the topic.
I understand they like to inflate the things at 12.5 to 13.5 psi. It is very difficult to get that within 1 lb. I'm curious to see what the whole process is, and where the balls go in their game journey. It just seems highly unlikely that the Pats are eager to try such a stupid ploy. They already have a reputation to live down.
Besides, the second half was allegedly OK, and they scored 28 unanswered points.
Whenever an event is tried in the media, you can bet you get partial facts and that the conclusions are those of a happily ignorant lynch mob. It has nothing to do with most of us. It may or may not be a fictitious story. But the opportunity to be part of a mob, pretending self righteous indignation, is too tempting for most people. They'll jump on that band wagon with both feet. Yahoo, we got us a neck tie party!!

Another one of those evenings
I'm confused quite often because I don't know if I am somehow creating this odd state of affairs. We better get things straightened out in a hurry. Most of the time, you can be in tune enough to make things OK. Sometimes mind-over whatever does not totally work. You know where it is headed.
For awhile there I was reticent about the prospect of going to sleep. It is better now, I guess.
Buenos noches kind of deal.
And that's that.

Horse Girls
I was wondering why I am a sucker for horse stories and movies. Even the ones that are all horse girl-centric. It came to me why; those shows remind me of the girls who grew up on 66th St. Most were older, and all were nicer to me than many females I met later.
That's right. Back then, on the outskirts of suburban Miami, horses were all around. It made an imprint, and to this day I am a sucker for cowgirls. Doesn't do me much good, but that is how it is.

People Say Some Crazy Things; ps, Obama made me laugh
Seriously. I was in my car listening to the State of the Union speech. It sounded like one of those motivational workshops, all the sincere, yet humorous strategizing about what "we" need to do.
For awhile there I was struggling with nausea, but then he went into comedy. What cracked me up was his assertion that all the government spying and wire-tapping, etc., was old news, and largely forgotten, but he was on it. He didn't forget.
Obama said he was having his people look into the alleged malpractice of the agencies run under his direction (by definition). They had been studying and looking into all this, and they were going be sure it was all transparent and report back on any wrongdoing.
That's like telling someone you'll pay them a dollar if they can guess how many fingers you're holding behind you're back. Oops, no, you guessed wrong, try again. If you get accused of cheating, promise to look into it and offer to do a report of your findings. Nope, I didn't cheat.
God, people, you really do sucker for glamorous talk, ignoring the fact that maybe government officials need to back out of more things rather than expand their involvement.
He said he wanted to close tax loopholes. Right. Abolish the IRS? Find a fair and simple method? Not a chance. The IRS is weapon number one for any well entrenched Washington politico. Any fool has to know that. That is why it has been tolerated. People are afraid of it, and they use it when they can. If he were sincere about any of his business talk, he'd be cutting the tax rate for corporations. We have one of the highest rates which is discouraging to businesses.
Democrats love taxes and official power. And rules. I am baffled by it. Republicans, I haven't a clue what they want. They say one thing and do another, plus they worry about stuff that is noble to worry about, in some circles, but not the stuff of government monitoring and control.
Anyone paying close attention would realize that the speech was a flowery paraphrasing of the Communist Manifesto. Sounds dramatic, but it is just the truth.
'From each according to his ability, to each according to his need', was sold as if it is moral and not something that takes force to administer. No corruption in deciding who is capable of supporting those deemed needy. Who decides? is always the issue.
For some reason, democrats I know think it is ok for bureaucrats and politicians to decide such things. They never think they might be on the short end of the stick and be unfairly bullied by government. They don't care if others are abused by official authority. Unless those others can be molded into a permanent underclass and reliable voting bloc.
Anyway. What a mess. Mitt and Jeb--are you kidding me? And Hillary or Pocahontas? People want royalty so they are incapable of grasping the concepts of natural rights, innocent until proven guilty. sovereignty of property and home, etc. That is why elections center around sound bites which are meaningless nuggets of nothingness, or grotesque slogans--if you really analyze them; Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. Right. And whom should be asked?
Anyway, I busted out laughing, then cut the radio off and went in to play. I figured I'd quit the speech on a high note. The one about him investigating the integrity of his operation and reporting back to us. Obviously the majority of people are either greedy enough--thinking they will gain personally, or stupid enough to play along and believe the nonsense.
It is a time when the philosophy of the sanctity of the human being, and the innate rights one possesses from birth, competes , or tries to, with the philosophy that They owe me, and The Greater Good (as defined by whomever is in power) always trumps the rights and property of mere individuals--especially those who have no political clout and can't sick the IRS on enemies.
So far the idea that people exist by permission of the state has been hammered into the citizens and they accept that. It is completely counter to the purest of precepts under which the country was structured. Nothing pleases a lot of these people more than seeing the few, who don't want to be pestered by the collective, bullied and controlled by Big Brother. It is sick but true.
If the presidential race came down to Jeb vs Hillary, I'd stay home. Besides that being an obvious result of a corrupt system, it is like no choice at all. I prefer Hil to Pocahontas, but that is not much consolation. The Native American princess makes Obama look like a freedom lover. She's the misanthrope's dream. Those people hate the human race, I am convinced.
Anyway. I'm glad to hear the country is doing better than ever before, jobs are everywhere, and costs are way low. Hell, they practically give food away. Gas prices are down and we get lectures about why this is disastrous for us. Really? What they say makes sense, sort of. But such thinking is also somewhat skewed.
Do you have any idea how troublesome it is when your hands will not stop itching?

If You Only Knew; and if I did, too
What a crazy year this will probably be. For the first time, I noticed that I am old, almost elderly, sort of. And that absolutely pisses me off!
Few things are as annoying as people talking about getting old. As if time being aware of one's existence is an evil thing. The more time, the more evil it is. That is so lame and boring. I hate such conversations--most of the time. Always have.
I remember people making a big deal of turning thirty or forty as if that was a huge landmark denoting the beginning of the end. Every minute, and every event is the beginning of the end, unless it is the end itself. Birth is the beginning of the end. Geez. What stupid garbage.
But, I finally realized I'm not so different from my father. He looked younger than his years all his life, up to a point. Then he all of a sudden looked plenty old enough, and then he was done. I'd say I look five years older than I did two years ago. But I go long periods without ever really paying attention to it in an objective or attentive way.
I may not even look different. Things are different. I'm being sucked into the medical-government-industrial complex. And it is an ugly thing. They want to be stewards of slow and expensive deaths, or protracted illnesses. If they can't kill you slowly, they can at least milk you and insurance dry by conducting test after test after test until you drop over with boredom, or anxiety because you think you might get too sick to clean up your life before you kick.
On the other hand you think that maybe you made it all up, and if any test reveals hard evidence or numbers out of the norm, that you made it happen. That is how it works.
The simple way of the world is this: some people can afford the luxury of being old and some can not. I can not. Not to say I want to pretend to be 25 or even 35, but I can't play the elderly role that nature expects either. Because I've lived an unnatural life. I got divorced. I never re-married, and the closest I ever come to landing a mate is always right at the point when they are ready to graduate John 0's finishing school for women who go on to greater things. They should pay me. Ingrates.
All the other measures of life that would naturally be significant are things I sidestepped one way or the other. Just how it is.
People still nipping at my heels a bit at work hoping to steal my job. It is bizarre and could easily give me a resentment against all gays and their mothers. Especially since I took up for them in the past, causing them not to be banned from the place, more or less. I was wrong. So I hate them for their games.
That is the least of my worries I suppose, but maybe I should put it at the top. It can be partly influenced by my actions. This other stuff may not be under my control, and I'm not sure what to think.
To find out things you have to do things to find out facts. That is the trouble. Left to its own devices, the medical-governmental complex will suck you in and spit out the corpse once they've raided your treasure. So, you have to keep them a little bit at bay. They need to be questioned and it needs to be known that you do not think a doctor is God, is always right, and has the right to withhold your pertinent information because only they can divine the meaning of tests, values, etc.
It angers many doctors if you question anything. Their egos, in the aggregate are almost as unbearable as those of pilots and guitar players. And that is off the charts.
So, I have been able to make music practices and the gigs we've had. I think my playing is going south, but so far I can fake it enough to get by. It is a bit of a worry, but what if all the other is just psychosomatic, and has no true effect on my playing? What if all this money is just going down the drain, and I'm a casualty of the war to convince people they need government monitoring of their health and everyone providing related services. What if none of it is real and I'm just another stooge, plodding merrily on, somewhere in the herd being led to who knows what?
What if all that. How can I be sure without something concrete, beyond the word of a would-be god? It's a rhetorical question. I don't want to do what I have to do to find out, and I'm not too sure I want to find out. I'm not sure what I think they'll find. I feel like I know, but would be best served forgetting all of this and just living with the crazy itch attacks.
Now we have two types of itch things happen. One is just my hands. Mostly hands. The palms get red and welty and itch like a mofo. Other parts of the hand too. It comes and goes. One hand or the other or both. I spray them with cortaid type stuff and benedryl spray. It helps some but I have that stuff on my hands. Everything keeps changing. I think it could take me down and maybe something can be done. I'm thinking this phase is going to be OK if I can just get everything streamlined, cleaned up, organized, and legally documented how I see fit. Then all is OK enough.
Secretly, I'm the best natural engineer I know. But I didn't cultivate that talent much after I quit on the cotton mill air cleaning. I let the jerks, the insecure science types who fear new and better knowledge and truth, the unoriginal snobby creep types who think they are smarter than they are, or that it matters in cases where it doesn't,; I let them push me out. I avoided them because I'm a dummy in many ways. If I ever hear my brother and DC discuss intelligence again, in the self congratulatory way they do, I may punch them both in the nose.
Why someone as accomplished and smart as my kin, with such a wonderful life going, would have to stroke his ego regarding intelligence, with a guy who may be smart but is morally(by my standards) bullshit, I do not know. Elitists have serious mental issues.

Survival SoCal
Recently, I discovered Survival Alaska on HULU. I find it to be the best of any shows I've seen in that genre. The contestants are a combination of genius and totally insane.
Somehow, though, there is a part of me that identifies, to a point. Never in my life have I ever been in that kind of shape, or been willing to put up with that much pain. But functioning in an adrenalin rush situation is when I've been at my best. All else kicks my ass.
So, I was thinking, I wonder how I'd fare in a Survival SoCal situation. Navigating traffic. Ignoring rednecks of all races. Trying not to get spoiled by the weather and relatively laid back ambiance. That's a tough one.
If it gets below 50 or above 75 F, the authorities start making plans for martial law and for treating massive cases of hypothermia or heat stroke. They set up relief zones, like safe zones, places where people can go inside a climate controlled building.
But that is all smoke and mirrors. Surviving SoCal is an elusive concept. I don't know what it means or how to do it. By SoCal, I mean way south. South of L.A. where there are far more pleasant and easy going people per thousand.
The trick is that just when you think expenses are covered, either prices go up, or there is an unanticipated fee, or who knows what. Or maybe everyone in the city gets a cold at the same time. That happens a lot. I know of residents who suspect chem trails are what ails them.
If I survive, I'll share how it's done. In the mean time, I'll just say I think the state of California, with all its innumerable tentacles, is a perfect of example of the old adage, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions.".
But like always, when people involve themselves in the business of others under lamer and lamer excuses, pretty soon they are just exerting force over others with no right or reason. Just rumor and self righteous nonsense.
Another time maybe I'll say what's really on my mind; tales of intrigue, betrayal, mortality, and love. I just threw love in. I probably know nothing about that.
Isolation, intentional or not, is not properly human nature. It is as bad as smoking.

Oh Good, No One Pays Attention
For a minute there I thought my rants about The Man, the Big Pretense involving all things governmental and cultural, etc., would have me in trouble. I don't fear other nationalities and races like most of the ultra PC people do. PC is how they hide their inner ugliness which is their total lack of respect for others.
They think various races and cultures are too stupid not to be redneck thugs, or that those others are too lame not to bully, burn, loot, etc. every time Al says there has been a mishap of some kind. Everyone knows it is nonsense, yet they just can't admit it publicly. They use the implicit view of these groups idiocies to pretend to help them and they use them to bolster their own wealth and power.
I got off because no one is paying attention to the boring things I write on the topic anyway, especially if it is a rambling disjointed monologue. All I know is that I got a haircut and I feel better for it.
The insurance bit is still a worry. It is really odd how the whole thing works, or doesn't. This is why you don't screw up when you are younger. Just do what's in front of you and forget grandiosity and all the garbage you hear from every direction. It is mostly nonsense and believing it is a sure way to misery.
Sadly, I've concluded that people are by and large herd animals, and fools. They laugh at inventors, yet revere actors like Sean Penn or Barack Obama.
I talked to a 20 year old kid who had no idea that higher math was actually a functional tool, and that it is how things get engineered and built, how space travel is planned, etc. He must have thought it was just there so people could act smart and victimize people like him.
This may be a little tangent but it touches upon why I would never push a voter registration drive. It is like asking my 20 year old acquaintance his view of a structural equation; "Will the bridge hold the weight?".
Voter drives are asking illiterate people who don't have the wherewithal to read, or pay attention to current affairs, to then weigh in as if their opinion is informed.
You do a voter drive to get a bunch of people to vote your way. Those who pretend otherwise are either stupid or lying. Why would you push the uninformed to vote if you didn't think they'd vote your way?
The bait usually relates to how they can get special treatment in some way from government. Another of my reasons for believing highly limiting governmental power is best.
Otherwise people use tax money to buy the votes of morons. I won't say anyone has it down to an art form (democrats), or that playing on ignorance in a way that lets people pretend to be informed and outraged isn't often a tactic (republicans).
I have to say, it is only republicans--not many--that I've ever heard seriously question the whole irs motif, and the FED. The only consistent effort toward freedom the dems offer is abortion.
Why they eschew most other individuals liberties, I do not know. Someone might point to marriage, but I'd say the government has no business in the matrimony business so let's just remove them. I think it is idiotic to redefine the word rather than just find a separate word for same sex unions. So many of the factors, due to nature, life, survival of the species, evolution, and more put a strong definition on the male - female dynamic.
Due to various advances in technology, no more need to be concerned that we aren't reproducing rapidly enough, and probably unknown factors as well, have changed what is considered acceptable. Homosexuality was real bad for population growth back when that was a desirable occurrence, so of course it was knocked off the plate of stuff people could spend time doing.
Back then life spans were about ten minutes, and for the species to survive, we had to multiply, so gay pride parades would have threatened to queer the whole human survival deal. Get while the getting is good, and get something that has a chance of causing a baby to happen.
Other than the obnoxious people whose entire hobby and existence is based upon being gay and letting you know it every few seconds, there is little reason to give a damn about it.
Allowing gay to become a new victim group, and a political statement is a mistake. For one thing, all that assumes a rather powerful dictatorial government. Fools on both sides of the non-issue, once again. You can say you don't like engineers or hockey players, but you cannot say, "You know, I don't like very many gay people. Most of them annoy me."
You just can't say stuff like that. That makes you homophobic. Bullshit!!!! It makes you a person with likes and dislikes, and opinions. You are not shooting them, you just don't like them. It's dandy, if you are in the 'hood and non-white to say you hate white people. That's because white limousine liberals hate white people too. If they think they are representative of white people, I don't blame them.
None of these things matter until they are pushed by force. That is what government is and does, and the problem resides in that; what groups of people can force other people to do or not do at legal gunpoint.
Saying these things puts one at risk of being grossly misinterpreted. That makes my point about why I am not one who thinks I want to encourage adults, who never thought about voting, to vote. Especially ones who are drunk and angry all the time, or just incurably stupid.

Sometimes the pushy voter registration chicks are hot and you can get lucky. Let's ask them if they know who is VP, and who we fought in the War for Independence. So why do they think this is great, to register otherwise uninterested people, and people to dumb to handle it themselves?

Don't Be Fooled, The Man Hates The Poor!!
Here's how the insurance thing works, at least in CA. They have a program for people who pull in less than 17k per year. Yippee!!! Free stuff!!
Yea, right. You have no choices, and you have to do that routine of going in and then you have to have a referral, etc., as if you don't know when your eye falls out that you need an eye doctor. I hate the whole HMO concept. I am old enough to remember life prior to all that.
OK, so if you make more than 17,235.00, then for a little over 100 bucks per month you can get insurance that lets you decide when to go where, and more people take it. Real doctors.
I've been doing pay as I go but will likely incur big expense so I am letting you pay for it. Thanks. The thing is, had I decided I'm poorer than 17k per year, the free route would still be looking for an allergy while I bleed out internally and clot up and die die die, you poverty stricken fool!
Alright, I got carried away. Seriously though. It is easily the difference between life and death while the poor person is caught in red tape and dimwittery. And the semi-poor person has a fighting chance at getting to the problem.
Once again, people think they are being looked after by their lovely government, and charlatans and shills like Obama, et al, when in reality they've been duped and offered a fake bribe for the votes.
So, those who think the whole trouble with life is the entitlement programs and that those people are living large on welfare and free stuff, be not alarmed. Many of those poor suckers may die off in the system if they have bone cancer or confusing ailments causing internal oddity.
So, smart poor people lie about their income so they can pay a little and have some choices. You spend more than that in cigarettes, if you smoke. I don't smoke any more, so I can afford this. And right now I am hoping it will work out OK.
But it is really bizarre how the whole thing is arranged. I find it hard to believe the euopean systems are better. Maybe you get something, but they have wait times that could land you six feet under. Unless you choose cremation, which is my preference. But I better be really dead or I'll really go on a rant.
Oh, and had I not had some interaction with the lovely L a few years ago, I'd not have known how to best handle this. I originally just dealt with the insurance lady at the po folk clinic, and she would have steered me into being legal, as far as pursuing some insurance, but she was leading me the wrong way. Good thing I called L.
So don't be so sure all the navigators and helpers they promote know anything, or that they won't unintentionally kill you.
I tell you, these overly paternalistic and maternalistic government types do not love you. They hate you and will smile maternally while you perish. And they'll pat themselves on the back and feel good thinking they did you a favor. Collectivists are impossible when it comes to reasoning and respecting your natural rights and liberty. Very pushy/. Buy or die insurance.

Another Trap of False Dichotomy
Us vs Them. That formula is a money maker, and those in power know it. Al Sharpton knows it. Anyone who capitalizes on victimhood knows it.
Police departments have come to operate that way, and have for more years than I've been alive. They almost have to.
So, when you have events like the Ferguson fiasco, it is easy to get people all worked up and choosing a side, even though they know nothing of the facts, or very little.
We learned that facts don't matter from our own President. He's weighed in on events thousands of miles from his crib, while the investigations were barely getting started, with almost no information at all.
It didn't matter, his non-existent son, whom he forbids from playing football, looks just like Trayvon, and his other son looks like Michael Brown. But don't despair, Obama has said he doesn't like bullies, so all bases are covered. He likes Rahmbo though, so go figure. I'm referring to the Chicago mayor and one time White House big shot.
All bases covered. Big O dislikes bullies, but likes bullies after they get themselves shot.
So, anyone who ever set foot in "da hood" for even a minute knows damn well that racism and bullying rule the streets. Just be white and wander around Memphis and find yourself in the wrong neighborhood.
Easy to do, because it isn't like one side of the street is all nice and pretty and reserved for white privilege, while the other is trashed and regularly shelled by police and white privileged arms enthusiasts. But they don't know that because Al and Jesse say otherwise and it feels good to be self righteously enraged.
You can be black and wander the streets pretty much unmolested if you aren't an obvious violent jerk. Even then you usually get your way. But we are to pretend otherwise. I'm shocked that people actually believe their own denial to that extent.
For whatever reason, the least egregious shootings get national attention, and the only part that matters is race. In Trayvon's case they had to invent a race--white hispanic, even though Zimmo was also part black.
By the way, what is being pushed as black culture is nothing but ignorant redneck culture. Same as the early riffraff portion of England and europe who landed on our shores prior to the Revolution. We had total amoral morons then, too. We just didn't celebrate it so much like now.
Alright, what this leads to is people who are more than happy to ply their bullying and property trashing skills in the name of race and victimhood. Al Sharpton's useful idiots--and I feel I've over-rated them by calling them idiots---pretty much hold communities hostage during these controversies
They try to blackmail their way into influencing court decisions and all else. "Do it our way or we trash the place.".
It's become so ridiculous that mobs impeding the travel of innocent people, blocking traffic and harassing people going to work, are called "peaceful protestors" because they didn't shoot anyone. Blocking traffic is not peaceful.
Maybe my little girl has really got to go and if you got out of the road she'd make it in time. Maybe I'm about to die and need to get to the hospital. You are not peaceful, and I have no idea at this point what it is your are protesting. You probably just like the party and the chance to loot or get on TV. Dicklets.
Then you have the police who think the public exists by permission, not right, due to the nature of the screwy laws, and the methods they've developed for enforcement. "Sting" operations are mostly entrapment and total BS. No knock search and seizure operations are nothing but pure government bullying and tyranny.
I've seen plenty enough of the smirky punk cop. I understand there is some need, but I thank God I have no son, because if I did and he became a cop, I'd be highly upset. Or daughter. I know that is possibly wrong of me, but so far that is my view.
People want to take absolute sides here. Oh the police are such selfless givers, risking their lives blablabla. It is a job and they chose it; for reasons upon which I won't speculate. And they get a by every time they do harm legally because they are "just doing their job". Nothing I love more than a lethal machine with no conscience, just the will to obey orders to screw with people.
And they have to deal with punks, on top of enforce laws that a truly moral person would refuse to enforce. And in ways no one with any empathy would do.
It comes down to the laws and how they are enforced. Also the limits put upon citizens as far as defending themselves and their property. Had that store owner tased that bully, Mike Brown, or shot him in the leg with a .22, he'd be in jail. Yet, I think it would have been OK.
I would be careful just overdoing the police monitoring thing. Or believing they are the sole culprits in these high profile nutjob cases. I'm skeptical about this body cam routine. And at the same time I am not buying the bit about blacks being victims here. The facts and statistics do not support that.
The biggest epidemic of violence is black on everyone violence. I know it and so do you. But we must pretend, to avoid being called racist or who knows what.
Knock half the laws off the books. Revamp the whole setup which encourages prosecutors to lie, cheat and steal to further their careers by ruining people. Quit pretending that violent punks are disgruntled youth "with something to say".
Look for the corruption in government which has to be protecting gangs, or they wouldn't be thriving. Again, abolishing a lot of laws would ruin their commerce.
And forget the whole hate crimes routine. That is only paraded out when it is a crime (sometimes not even a crime, but self defense) by white people. It is hardly done otherwise even when race is an obvious factor. But we're supposed to pretend, again.
How many violent crimes are not hateful? Who cares about the why of it. Or the race. Hit me with a hammer and I am pretty sure your view of my race or sexual preference will have no influence on how it feels to me. That is the dumbest thing ever.
I've heard guilty white people try to make sense of the hate crime thing, but I sensed they were covering up their own racist inner being. I really felt that. Those who have the least respect for people due to race often make the biggest nonsensical overtures. Another bit of human nature that Al Sharpton is a master at exploiting.
You know, maybe Al is a genius of sorts. He's terrible with the english language and he's a major league creep and criminal, but damned if he hasn't got his finger on the pulse of guilty white people. Especially the kind who are secretly racist in ultra liberal circles; those people who fawn over any black person that happens to cross their social circles.
I hope he takes them all to the cleaners. Snobby phony bastards.
And for God's sake let's hope the next attorney general is not a rabid racist power grabbing liar like Eric Holder. He has had quite a hand in escalating racial tension and hatred, and promoting violence. People get killed. Black people get killed, and their shops get burned or looted.
He does not care about them. The divide is a way that some people further their power and wealth. Ask Al and Jesse.
So, skip all the above. The message is that the police suck and the looters and agitators masquerading as protestors are scum, not victims.
the end

Disconnect and Festive Satire
This year, I did absolutely nothing for anyone for Christmas. Not officially, anyway. It hardly registered with the me that the season was upon us, and that I usually do something. I just watched it float by.
The effect is that of a surreal satire of life; my life, anyway. And I realize I must be about to make some sort of course alteration, again. Or, maybe for only the second time, when it comes down to it.
I'm getting a little impatient with the status quo. Bored, maybe. No excuse for boredom like that. If you're bored, do something different. Do something. And that is where the pre-action agitation kicks in. Part of the process.
